About Us
Club History
The club was founded in 1997 as the Macquarie Magpies, fielding both senior and junior teams in the competition. At the end of the 2002 season, the decision was made to change our club colours to align with the Adelaide Crows' strip, bringing unity between our junior and senior sides. In 2012, we became a partner club of the Fremantle Dockers, adopting their name and colours to become the Lake Macquarie Dockers.
Located between the Hunter Valley, Newcastle, and Lake Macquarie, the Lake Macquarie Dockers AFC is one of the youngest clubs in the Black Diamond Football League, widely regarded as one of the strongest country leagues in New South Wales.
Our vision is to establish ourselves as a dominant force in the BDAFL and Greater Sydney Junior leagues by embracing a philosophy that encourages participation for children, adults, and families, promoting fun and fitness. Our core focus remains on the promotion of Australian Rules Football, ensuring the game is played in its traditional spirit. The Lake Macquarie Dockers Football Club offers a safe and enjoyable environment for people of all ages to engage in the sport.
Football Fields
We have one full sized and one smaller oval adjacent to the clubhouse. The larger field is complete with four light towers that allow training and games at night.
The Dockyard
The recently renovated facility includes a canteen, storage rooms, and change rooms, as well as separate public toilets for males and females. Its covered design ensures a dry and comfortable space for families, friends, and spectators, no matter the weather.

Our canteen offers a fantastic selection of reasonably priced items, including:
- Hot and Cold Beverages
- Freshly made salad rolls
- Hot food including all the bbq favourites
- A Variety of lollies and snacks
- Barista quality coffee
Change Rooms
The facilities include spacious change rooms equipped with ample bench seating, toilets, and showers. Dedicated rooms are available for umpires, visiting teams, and, of course, our Dockers players.
